Good thoughts, Harold. Thanks. I have a very specific audience in mind for this series of articles. I’m writing to influence moderate Christian leaders in organizations with minority movements that already push for acceptance of LGBTQ people. Many of these leaders already have doubts about the hardline positions their churches officially take.

Surely, I have no hope of reaching Biblical literalists or fundamentalists, but many progressive or semi-progessive churches are filled with ministers who believe in things like continuing revelation and historical critical Bible study.

Critical thinking about their faith has already convinced some of them to be more progressive.

I’m hoping that’s a trend I can encourage.
