Given the Air Force’s recent history with promoting and privileging Christianity at the Air Force Academy, one would think they would be especially sensitive to faith neutrality.
For more than a decade, cadets at the Academy felt pressured to publicly worship at Christian services and to express Christian faith. Many of them felt that not to do so would hurt their careers.
Unfortunately, many officers who graduated from the Academy are indoctrinated with the view that Christianity ought to be privileged.
We all need to be vigilant to ensure our military is welcoming and neutral to people of all faiths and no faith.
