Given that walking seems to have been the primary means of transportation within the city of Rome, even for the elite, and given that street food was to be found just about everywhere, it would certainly seem likely that the elite would have indulged from time to time.

I can’t remember off the top of my head, but didn’t Cicero refer to street food a time or two in his writing?
