Getting banned from Quora is the best thing that ever happened to me in terms of writing. :-) I've worked as a full-time columnist, I've had many articles published in LGBTQ magazines and newspapers, and my own reach on social media has grown a lot. Quora made me lazy. I wanted the instant exposure I got there. Leaving Quora forced me to learn how to do the hard promo work I needed to do to grow.
