Frankly, I wasn’t planning on focusing on the debate, intending to just leave the television on in the background. Vice presidential debates, after all, rarely change anybody’s vote. I only wanted to be able to pay attention in case something crazy happened.

Then Kamala started to speak, and she riveted me. Her words, her face, her gestures — everything about her projected strength and capable, smart leadership.

I could not stop watching, and remained glued to my television for the entire 90 minutes.

I wish I could vote for her for president.
