For some reason I never got addicted to the hookup sites, but a few years ago sitting in a grassy area at Detroit Pride, a cute guy and I started subtly cruising each other. He was lying on his back listening to the band that was playing, and every so often his eyes would capture mine.

Game on, I thought!

But no sooner than he would hold my gaze for just a little too long (you know!) he'd pick up his phone, thumb through the screen, and stare at it for minutes at a time.

Later, after we hooked up, he told me he'd been checking all of his cruising apps to see if I was online so he could flirt with me. 🤣

I didn't even have any apps installed. So, I just stood up, walked over, sat down beside him and commenced to real-life flirting.

I don't know if he was addicted to the apps or not, but he did seem socially dependent on them.

There's nothing necessarily wrong with that, but I found it amusing.

I'll be looking forward to your report of how things go!
