Starting with my days in Act Up back in the 90s, I learned the importance of always reading the study. And how many times have I screwed up?

As a scientific layman, I used to be intimidated by complex studies, particularly studies involving virology or pharmaceuticals. But with a little persistence, I eventually realized that that most papers aren’t really so arcane. Attention to detail is critical, though, academic papers seeing to value opacity as they do.

In any case, thanks so much for digging deep and clearing this up for some of us.
