Fascinating information, thank you! As I neared the end of the article, I started thinking about how so much anti-trangender rhetoric depends on an exclusive paradigm of men as sexual predators and women as victims.
"You don't dislike trans women," extremist activists will say. "We recognize the obvious fact that 'biological men' are likely to be sexual threats to women and 'biological women' are not. Therefore, transgender women, who are actually biological men, must be kept out of women's spaces as presumptively dangerous."
Forget that no data shows transgender women being dangerous to other women. To the activists, it's just so obvious they don't need data.
They love to talk about how trans women are threats to cis women in prison, but they ignore the fact that sexual violence committed by trans women in prison is statistically insignificant, while sexual violence committed by cis women in prison is frequent and frequently reported.
I think part of the problem is that they are conditioned to believe that women cannot or generally do not commit sexual violence.
So I'm glad to see this article!
