Exciting! You know, beyond just exiting and interesting, I like how your story can be read as queer metaphor, as metaphor of the othered outsider — even though though your characters are not othered for their queerness.
Meredith's conflict with her parents feels quite familiar to me, even though they don't disapprove of her romantic interest because of her gender, but because of different characteristics that make Nyx other and therefore unacceptable.
And now, with the hunters, we see an external, official sort of othering that queer people in most parts of the world would instantly recognize and relate to.
