Excellent! What a hoot, Eric Griggs.
I nominate Fred Shirley to play the young Caesar in his dalliance with Nicomedes of Bythnia. Yes, yes, I know there’s little evidence it was an actual sexual affair, but it’s our film.
Oh, and the pirates! Fred can play Caesar with them too, and we can throw in homoerotic elements. Lots of shirtless pirates striking sultry poses trying to seduce the beautiful young patrician.
But who will play Alexander and Hephaestion?
Imagine a scene the night before the battle with the Sacred Band, while Phillip is still alive. Alexander knows he’ll be leading a cavalry assault against this band of lovers. Aristotle had taught him respect for them.
Alexander broods while Hephaestion pressures him for a little pre-battle nooky.
I feel like writing the scene.
But we need actors, man!
