Excellent thoughts. I would have published this piece in Prism & Pen, because as you say, it’s not at all a bad personal essay. It’s a queer person’s perspective about how they live, and on that level it’s fine and important.

But I would have published it provided I could have given editorial support to avoid the whole “queer relationship" problem. I think the author probably would have been open to adjusting that wording a little.

Of course that would have eliminated the hate clicking, which … just goes to show there are editors and there are editors.
