Excellent storytelling and terrific history, thanks! This is the second time I've heard that inmates of the women's prison acted in solidarity with Stonewall rioters. The first time I heard that story was from my gay partner, who was not at Stonewall but knew some people who were. One day when we were walking around the Village and passing the site of the prison, he told me essentially what you just wrote, thou I don't remember all the details. We need to remember our history, and I thank you for sharing it so well!
