Excellent article and really good points, Shannon Barber. Sexual attraction is sort of a mysterious process, and it’s highly personal.

I’ve dated guys whose photos would have automatically made me believe that dating mojo would be there, but in person … nothing. No chemistry, no attraction.

As a gay man, your article resonates with me because I’ve felt pressure say that gay men who don’t want to date trans men are bigots.

And I just can’t get on board with that.

Personally, I’m just not sexually compatible with a man with a vagina. I wish I were! Seriously, some trans guys are totally hot.

But I’m not wired that way.

I know sex is very individual and that attraction is not something most people have any conscious control over.

We’d all do well to respect that, I think.
