Exactly, the people doing the pushing and shoving were men, but the woman bartender was just as hostile over their mild gender nonconformity, their obvious gayness. If I stop and think back on my life, I seem to remember fewer women than men being problematic in their homophobia, but by no means was this a rule of thumb.
