Exactly. Nothing makes me close an email faster than getting the idea I’m being marketed to. Now, a little honesty? Sure!

I don’t mind getting a message that says something transparent like, “My company does SEO optimization and because you have a big social media presence, we’d like the opportunity to pitch our services to you, which we believe are excellent and very fairly priced. We can help you get better results!”

OK, honest, to the point, and helpful. I know exactly what they want and can decide to learn more about them if I want.

I hate the emails that make the message seem personal when it isn’t, or that don’t get to the point.

Time is valuable!
