Evangelical Christian leaders absolutely do call for executing gay people. And in Africa, those calls come overwhelmingly from Christian leaders not from Muslim leaders. (For the most part because there are so many more Christian leaders.)

Iran notwithstanding.

As a matter of fact, when Uganda recently passed a harsh anti-gay law that included the death penalty, the Christian Post, an influential American publication, ran an op-ed urging other nations to emulate Uganda.

Esther Spurrill-Jones wrote a rebuttal in Prism & Pen, which I featured as an editor's pick in our weekly Roundup.

I think one of the most distressing things to me about that op-ed was how many American Christians commented underneath to agree with the editorialist — which means endorsing the death penalty for gay people.

That's American Evangelical Christians endorsing the death penalty for gay people.

You are misinformed. That does happen.
