Esther Spurrill-Jones, who co-edits Prism & Pen with me, went to a Sunday service at her new church not too long ago, and for the first time in her life heard a pro-LGBTQ sermon from the pulpit.

She says that the sermon was a very emotional moment for her and later for the pastor when she approached him about it.

Esther, who is a devout Christian, has struggled to remain a church Christian, and she’s one of the most patient people I’ve ever known. She didn’t throw in the towel, she just kept trying. But she’s an exceptional person.
