Especially since, as far as I can tell, Cabey never received a dime from Goetz. Cabey won the lawsuit and the monetary judgement in 1996. By 2,000, Goetz had filed for bankruptcy to avoid paying. A court later ruled he had to pay anyway. Cabey's family hired a debt-collection agency to try to get something, anything, from Goetz to pay for their ongoing medical care bills.
If they've gotten any help, I'd be surprised, but they certainly haven't received anything like 42m, or even 1m.
