Elizabeth, thank you so much for sharing this. I have been in love with this song for many years, and I can’t believe this young man has done such an incredible job with it.

By the way, if you ever have time, look up Gregory Lemarchal and listen to one of his interpretations. He was no Balavoine, but his performance at a French music festival days before dying of cystic fibrosis was just incredible.

The existential heart of the song somehow fit his circumstances so well. I can’t listen to it without tears streaming down my face.
