Doug Schantz has a long, sordid history as a Republican-supporting, conservative, racist, elitist piece of garbage. He’s the very worst kind of assimilationist, a wealthy white gay man who struggles up in his own privilege while pissing on other marginalized people.

This is news to practically no one, unfortunately. The only good thing coming out of all this is that it looks like white LGBT people in Washington DC have finally had it with him. (What took them so long?)

It should have happened a long time ago, but it looks like people are now going to stop drinking in his bar and thereby handing him money.

Or at least, let me put it this way — anybody who walks into his bar these days is comfortable declaring themself to be racist scum. And decent people know exactly how to treat them in consequence.
