Ditto! Well, sort of. I mean, I'm not asexual. But I read voraciously as a child, including from the adult section of the library where I had pretty much parental carte blanche.

Almost everything I read featured heterosexual relationships. In some of them, sex was featured pretty heavily if not exactly explicitly. I was a big sci-fi fan, and I loved Heinlein's "Stranger in a Strange Land," which was jam packed with glowing descriptions of straight sex — as were many of his other novels.

Somehow, despite all that indoctrination, I'm gay anyway. It's almost as if indoctrination into a sexual orientation isn't a thing.

Oh, right. It's not! That why decades of clinical evidence show us that conversion therapy doesn't work.
