Did you see the article in the Guardian by a Qatari citizen bemoaning that he's not rich even though he owns a large summer home with a pool, that he has no problem affording? (Qatari workers are almost all foreign nationals with no citizenship, who earn on the order of three to four hundred dollars a month so this "not-rich" man can afford a life of leisure while treating women like property.)

That reminded me of the oil-wealth generation that left your father in a trailer. Ugh.
