Did you know that trans women incarcerated with men are raped and assaulted at appalling levels? Did you know that the only “solution” most prisons come up with for the problem is solitary confinement, which is destructive of both mental and physical health?

Did you know that trans women housed with other women have almost zero incidence of violence against those women? The problem is so nonexistent that most anti-trans activists use only one example of it, because they can’t find any others.

Fairness?

You know, it’s perfectly possible to puzzle out the problem of trans women in sport and attempt to come up with good policies without the vitriol and apparent hate and disgust that anti-trans activist level at me. It’s not as if, after all, trans women were participating in elite sport. As a phenomenon, the practice is almost non-existent.

The problem of trans women in sports cannot explain the hatred and disgust leveled at me every time I write about trans issues.

Trans people are vulnerable, discriminated against, and hated on by people who literally have nothing to fear from them. And that’s a huge problem.
