Degrowth is such an obvious necessity. The consequences of continued geometric growth are so obviously disastrous — are the planet in every living thing on it.
It's hard to imagine why people refuse to look hard at those consequences and resolve to take action. Something about sticking your head in the sand is very much human nature, I guess.
We need real leadership, but at least in the U.S. we're stuck with geriatric ostriches in the Democratic Party — and I don't even know how to describe the willfully, disingenuously ignorant leaders of the Republican Party. Evil is one good descriptor that comes to mind.
