David and the Lion’s Den alert!

David goes back to Cucina for the first time since he was arrested. A bit of Deus ex Machina propels him to step inside, an act that his fate may well turn on. Then we flash back to our young Colombian man, boy no longer. Some mysteries may be taking shape out of the fog.

Author’s notes:

David’s entry into Cucina reminds me so much of my own life. Cucina della Fontana was a real restaurant on Bleecker St. in Greenwich Village. My huband Lenny and I discovered it one blizzardy winter’s night when we ducked in to escape icy wind and snow.

Howie was working the bar, and that night began an enduring three-way friendship that taught me so much about life and love. Howie was never my lover, but he was an angel and an inspiration.

This isn’t actually the block where Cucina was, but the look is very similar
