I should take this opportunity to note again that the owner and the manager of Cucina della Fontana in Greenwich Village were truly lovely people. They don’t share any of the negative traits of the characters I’ve created for this novel, which is a work of fiction. Of the positive traits, I give them full credit. “Alonzo” was one of the best looking men I’ve ever met, with a sensitive, caring personality. “Esteban” was a remarkable business person with a serious flair for connecting with people and networking. He loved his extended family and was very good to them.
