Cory, if anybody had suggested to me a decade ago that a former government official would hesitate to appear on a mainstream news network because he didn't want to attract the attention of anti-LGBTQ forces, I would have presumed they were referring to a dystopian novel, not to current reality.

Today, I can only nod in understanding and empathy.
