Congratulations! I’m so glad you’re telling your story, and I’m delighted you chose Prism & Pen to help tell it.
Your story fascinates me partly because it’s so different from mine. I realized I was gay before I was even a teenager. No amount of cultural pressure or personal deception would have been enough to make me not see my same-sex attraction for what it was.
The breadth of the human experience, however, is remarkable. People so often assume their own particular experiences generalize, which is why it’s so important that we tell our stories.
Laurence Best is also writing on Prism & Penn to tell his story, which includes being married to a woman for 20 years before finally understanding that he was really gay.
Thanks so much for sharing, and I hope we hear more from you.
Jim
