Color me behind the times, but I became aware of Only Fans only a couple months ago when an adorable twink followed me on Twitter and I followed him back to his OF account. He does not, by the way, have a hairy ass but is rather enormously endowed for his skinny frame, which for some reason makes me laugh.
And by all accounts makes him a lot of cash, which … yay!
When I was in my twenties and having a rough time making it, I hustled for a little while, which mostly meant I spent three or four nights a week at the Rounds hustler bar on Manhattan’s Upper East Side.
It wasn’t terrible, and certainly nothing like putting myself in danger on the street, but even so I saw a lot of violence. I saw teenage boys being trafficked and abused.
I’d have jumped at the chance to stay home and support myself safely with something like Only Fans.
I’d heard rumors that the OF sex ban was driven by Evangelical pressure, but I didn’t know how much.
Thanks for telling the story, because it needs to be told, and this kind of pressure needs to be fought.
We’re living in the 21st century and I’m sure almost nobody is trying to go back to the 17th, which is where Evangelical Christians seem to want to take us.
The trouble is that their pressure is insidious and difficult to combat because we often don’t recognize it when we see it.
Thanks for raising awareness!
