Can't even wrap my mind around why conservative religious organizations are so intent on encouraging procreation. But whether you're an Evangelical Protestant, a Mormon, or a Roman Catholic, your Church puts a huge priority on women having tons of babies.

That priority is so baked into Roman Catholic theology that LGBTQ affirmation is almost completely theoretically impossible.

It's jaw dropping.

Our world is severely overpopulated, severely stressed and in severe decline because of all the damage far too many humans are doing to it.

Meanwhile, our most popular Christian churches cheer the overpopulation on.

Seriously?

These people are out of their minds.

But then, that's generally what religion does to people. It removes reason and rationality from thought processes, centering faith instead, just another way to say "magical thinking."

Fortunately, the majority of Christians in developed countries ignore their Churches' unreasoning ignorance and limit the birth-rate anyway. Multiple studies in the United States, for example, show that Catholic women are as likely to use artificial birth control as any other women, even though the Catholic Church makes artificial birth control a huge issue, defining it as a major sin and categorically rejecting its use for any reason — even to prevent disease transmission.

Unfortunately, while most conservative religious people in the United States firmly reject limiting family size in practice, for themselves, they cling to the theologies anyway, using them as swords and hammers against queer people.

Typical religious nonsense morphing into hatred and oppression .
