Can I just add that I get especially upset when I see young queer people piling on, especially young gay men.

Madonna was our committed ally during a time when that was damn risky for entertainers. She’s always had the courage to speak truth to power ... about feminism and about queer rights.

Look, it’s no secret that gay male culture has a problem not valuing older people. We discuss it among ourselves all the time, and we work for positive cultural changes. But mostly, we just work really really hard to look younger than we are.

So when I see gay men criticizing Madonna for that, I think "hypocrite."
