Being queer is not the same as choosing to support or vote for political ideas. Being queer means living with at least one of several innate human characteristics like sexual orientation or gender identity. Anyone can choose not to identify as a conservative. No queer person can choose not to be queer. We are who we are no matter what we think about ideas. That's the difference.
