Banning the uniforms of the NYPD from Pride is the epitome of reasonable. Your argument that I personally have to be satisfied, as it were not queer people of color raising objections to the uniforms of the people brutalizing them, is irresponsible and flat wrong.

If GOAL wants to participate by protesting against the brutal, racist NYPD in civvies without their weapons, nobody will object to their presence. They have not been excluded from Pride, their guns and uniforms have. Letting them march in uniform sends a horrible message not just to the queer people of color the NYPD brutalizes every day, but to the public at large who take the participation of uniformed NYPD officers to mean the NYPD is an ally to queer people. That isn't even close to the truth. GOAL cops need to put their egos aside and remember what Stonewall symbolizes. They need to realize that Pride is a protest, not a party. They need to protest WITH US, marching at our side to demand fundamental NYPD reform starting today.
