Back when dinosaurs roamed the earth, my nude photo appeared in a coffee table art book that sold in gay bookstores all over North America and Europe.

You could even find it in Barnes and Noble.

While the book (and my photo particularly) was in some ways a commentary on HIV, on celebrating life while acknowledging fear, much of it was unapologetically erotic.

Plainly sexualized and sexy.

Nobody had the chutzpah to tell me I don’t own my body anymore … or anything like you’ve been told.

Nude images are made and published for all sorts of reasons. The ones you describe are fantastic. I’m glad you’re doing it if you find it empowering.

Isn’t it interesting how the negative comments you’re getting seem centered around keeping women restricted to sexual object status?
