Back in my day in the gay world, young men just out of their teens would form "sugar" relationships with wealthy older (sometimes elderly) men, but the vocabulary was different. The younger men were usually called "houseboys" when they lived in.

I knew a few of these young guys who reported positive experiences, but the "relationships" always seem to end in some kind of drama, and often quite toxic drama.

The practice is advertised more openly today, and I think a lot of young guys believe that being in a sugar daddy relationship would be glamorous and fun. But I dunno. I don't want to judge, but I think the potential for abuse and mistreatment is very high.

But as inflation soars and economic times get increasingly more tough, the temptation to enter that sort of lifestyle will inevitably increase.
