Aw!!! Those are just the best photos! I won’t try to compete with them, but I do have some squirrel “coolishness” of my own.

The squirrels in my yard do their darndest to snag suet or sunflower seeds when Elsa the cat isn’t looking.

This guy figured hanging upside down on the suet feeder would probably serve him. He wasn’t wrong! But the moment Elsa made an appearance, he scampered off quick time.

Then this pileated woodpecker guy showed up. The scale here is hard to judge, but trust me, he is at least as big as Elsa.

She gave him the stink eye from across the lawn, but didn’t dare wiggle her rump and try to charge.

He ate at the suet feeder for a good 20 minutes, occasionally glancing at her over his shoulder as if daring her to try something.

Me? I had a talk with the squirrels and encouraged them to be a little bit more courageous. Am I the only person who doesn’t understand what a pussycat Elsa is?
