Ask yourself why and how white people didn't exist until a few hundred years ago. It's because whiteness is an invention. Nothing physical makes people white except for arbitrary measures that nobody thought about until recently. There are countless other ways to divide up human populations than the ones we use. We use the ones we do because they privilege and empower a certain minority of humans.
