Ask any out trans person in the UK about violence and they'll give you an earful. It's surging. Random street violence against openly trans people is a huge problem in the UK right now, and very few people are unaware of that. Two U.K. transgender writers for Prism & Pen were beaten up in streets this year, one of them more than once.

Every transgender person I know in the UK knows transgender people who have experienced random street violence.

The idea that the UK government cannot compile statistics about this is ... hardly surprising. They don't want to. They want to continue to deny the problem while they give succor and support to the people encouraging the violence.
