As Owen Jones pointed out yesterday discussing JK Rowling's transphobia, we queer people have common cause because our persecution and oppression are rooted in common disgust at our so-called betrayal of gender norms.
Gay man and trans people are obvious examples, but in a way bisexual men and women get hit hard because in common public perception they are choosing homosexual behavior, when and if they do so choose.
In the case of bisexual men, that either frightens or angers straight men who disapprove of homosexuality for whatever reasons. This ought to be excellent enough reason to support bisexual men and women to the fullest extent any of us queer people can.
When gay men express suspicion of bisexual men, we are adding fuel to a fire that's already roasting us.
We should stop, because it's hot enough out there.
