As long as you were confident you would have time to have the layout completed by Sunday morning, particular work days wouldn't matter so much.

Just thinking out loud here, but since we publish 7 days a week, not having at least a little time to devote at the end of each week (to pick up late-week stories) could be a problem. On the other hand, the job isn't all that time consuming if you don't do it all in one sitting like I do now, so your late-week availability wouldn't necessarily have to mean significant time.
