As I wrote in my morning story today, meant primarily for the eyes of my privileged gay white friends, STONEWALL was a riot. Four nights of violent riots.

Of course riots result from oppression and hopelessness.

And it’s not OK for people whose own necks aren’t under the boot to lecture about rioting.

We need to be attacking systemic racism, not condemning Black folks for howling their outrage and despair.
