As I was editing and scheduling this story, I sent a screenshot of the Jesus/Trump photo to a friend. The first thing we both mentioned is that Jesus looks mighty White for a 2000-year-old Middle Eastern person. (My friend also suggested that the Jesus of that photo must have had access to a Turkish barber to get that beard looking so sharp, but never mind. 🤣)

Of course, the Conservative/Republican Jesus is always White, isn't he? I don't think conservatives can quite cope with the idea of the son of God looking like somebody from one of those "shithole countries," to bring Trump back into the picture.

But then I noticed something. The Jesus in the AI photo is white too!

This is to be expected, I suppose, since machine learning apps simply emulate what they find in the real world. And in the real world, Jesus is painted as White most of the time. White Jesus is the default.

Which brings me around to saying I'm glad the default view of trans women looks pretty positive. The AI app did not produce something negatively stereotypical, which is great.

Maybe that means most of what the AI app is able to find in the real world about trans women isn't very negative.

I hope that's the case!
