As I replied to somebody the other day disparaging so-called echo chambers, I don't think they really exist anyway.

I mean, personally, I read all sorts of news from all sorts of sources every day. I am relentlessly aware of the views of people who do not support the humanity dignity and equality of LGBTQ people, Black people, and other marginalized people.

I'm not living in some sort of isolated chamber where I only hear people saying things I agree with. Is anybody? Especially with Trump and Musk in charge of the federal government?

I mean, I suppose it's possible, but I also suppose that cases like that must be pretty rare. I think the myth of the echo chamber is just something people repeat without thinking very hard about it.

After all, if we queer people didn't know what was going on around us, we would not be speaking up for dignity and equality.
