As bad as legal and policy implications, open and unapologetic disdain for queer people is one of the horrifying outcomes of this election.

Not all Trump supporters voted for him because they hate us. But very many of them did, and the toxic, anti-LGBTQ GOP campaign (both official and by proxy) has given a lot of people implicit permission to express that hatred.

Like they wish for a return to the 1970s and '80s or something.

But here's the thing.

We've already lived through that era. We have skills, resilience, and community they can't even imagine.

Also, assholes like that Trump-loving trucker can (and I hope will) draw a backlash from even our casual allies or just ... average, decent people who don't like schoolyard bullies and their adult equivalents.

So you know what? With the gather with our friends, build our communities, and tell our stories.

By putting the spotlight on this bullying trucker, you're doing what we all need to do.

Thank you!
