As a Tolkien fan of decades, having first obsessed over the novels as a small boy, I loved the films for how they brought the story to glorious cinematic life. But I couldn't love them enough. I couldn't love the storytelling like I loved the storytelling in the books. I think you have helped me understand why. Thank you.
