As a sort of side note here, this can actually happen. Some languages have more words for colors than other languages.

For example, in English we have one word for blue. Russian has two words, one for dark blue and the other for a lighter shade. Russian speakers do not perceive a unity of blueness. They see two different colors where we English speakers only see one.

Interestingly, their word for light blue is also a gay slur, because they associate that color with femininity and weakness.
