As a former serious marathon runner, this resonates so much with me.
I wasted so much good training time over the years running injured, refusing to give in to shin splints or heel spurs. (Not the Trump kind, the real, agonizing kind.)
I wasted time refusing to heal because I refused to acknowledge I was hurt.
Now that my best times are behind me (aging catches up with even the strongest of us) I sure wish I’d learned the lesson of healing sooner.
But just because I didn’t apply it well to my running life doesn’t mean I can’t apply it to the rest of my life.
Thanks for your great story!
