Another thing to know about HIV drugs is that conservative Christian business leaders are fighting for exemptions to federal rules mandating that they be included in health insurance coverage.

The drugs, when used for prevention, are called PrEP, and the same Texas lawyer who drafted that citizen-enforced abortion ban just won a federal lawsuit for a Christian client who objected to covering PrEP in insurance policies for his employees.

The legal fight is far from over, but if the decision is upheld at appellate levels, this could strike a major blow to the effort to strangle HIV circulation by 2030.
