Anderson is also the center of a loosely affiliated network of churches that call themselves New Independent Fundamentalist Baptists (New IFB). Some New IFB churches have Steadfast/ Stedfast Baptist in their name, and they're found from the Pacific Northwest, to Texas, Florida, and North Carolina.

I wrote about one such church last year after a woman wrote to tell me about a relative of hers who attends one and who was stockpiling assault rifles. He made online threats against a upcoming Pride parade and was temporarily jailed on minor charges, until the parade was over.

But he's still out there, and the new IFB church he attends (which it turned out I had already written about in connection with pastors calling for the deaths of LGBTQ people) is still preaching hate.

Hemat Mehta is a journalist who does a good job monitoring New IFB churches, frequently reporting on their public calls for the deaths of LGBTQ people. He has a popular Twitter account filled with video clips of their sermons, which he updates frequently.
