And yet, I write in a creative nonfiction style very frequently, and some of those articles blow up. I’m in the top 1% of Medium writers by the numbers.

So clearly, tastes vary. I’m not saying yours are wrong. You have every right to like what you like.

But I can observe that many Medium readers have tastes that are different from yours.
